    Mr. Nir Zinger

    Nir is a researcher (M.A.) in the program of Philosophy of Science and Rationality in the department of Philosophy in University of Haifa. His Thesis title is "Technological-Cultural Change: The Discourse of Technological Change and its Affinities to Cultural Concepts" under the academic supervision of Dr. Gad Prudovski. Nir holds B.Sc. in Computer Science and Information Systems at the University of Haifa.

    He worked as a software developer in various High-Tech companies and is currently working as a digital pedagogy developer at The Hebrew Reali School in Haifa and as a software developer in The Center for Internet Research and in the Library's Information Systems section at the University of Haifa. As part of those jobs, Nir is responsible for various information and knowledge systems, websites and computer systems.

     

    Academic Interests:

    • Science as a modern social-cultural phenomenon;
    • The Discourse around the Cyberspace and its affinities to social sciences and to our culture;
    • How can digital technologies affect teachers and students for better, optimal learning?
    • How do knowledge management in the learning processes and the "semantic web" change the students' understanding and the way they engage with information items?
    • Using Social Network Analysis (SNA) to map educational discourses in schools.
